TSA Updates Policy on Flying with CBD

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) now allows hemp-derived CBD products to be carried on flights under certain circumstances.

As long as travelers have CBD in forms that adhere to the regulations in the farm bill, the TSA will now permit it on an airplane in both carry-on and checked luggage.

But that doesn’t mean cannabis can fly. While security officers do not specifically “search for marijuana or other illegal drugs,” the TSA’s updated language warns that “marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law,” and officers are required to report any suspected violations of law.
